Summary/Abstract: The study is focussed on "Cinq semaines en ballon" and "Le Tour du monde en quatre-vingt jours": the charm of these two novels lies in the use of a specific temporality by Jules Verne, speaking directly to the child inside every reader. Lulling his reader, making him comfortable and initiating him are three ways of getting him to a magic world, which can be textually expressed in the narrative rhythm of the novels, between slowing down et going faster; in the writer's art of getting obeyed by the events as soon as his heros need something; and by Verne's prophetic enthusiasm as a mean of keaping his reader in the position of a discovering and wondering child.
