Summary/Abstract: In the article social and artistic phenomena of time and man depicted in interliterary context in the prose of K. Chorny, K. Krapiva, Z. Byaduli and M. Zaretsky are discussed. The analysis includes the uniqueness of the authors’ vision of reality, the characters’ diversity and dynamics, the peculiarities of artistic typification, universal human features and national diversity of the concept of man. Special attention is paid to the peculiarities of personality self-identification in the critical period as well as to the principles and methods of artistic depiction of a character in the context of the era. The article examines the key existential principles and humanistic dominants embodied by Belarusian writers in their artistic concept of personality in the era of wars and revolutions.
