Summary/Abstract: In recent years, trauma-informed care has gained importance as a set of principles that should guide ideal psychotherapy services delivery. The understanding of the effect that trauma has on emotional well-being is not new, but recent considerations have resulted in expanding interest in enhancing the psycho-therapeutic response to interpersonal trauma. The literature shows there is comparably less published materials on trauma-informed care in psychotherapy settings, than on other areas of study. This quantitative research investigates this area of study through a questionnaire which has been administered with the population of warranted psychotherapists in Malta. The findings look at the continuum between trauma-aware and trauma-informed understanding and investigates the process of permeating organizations with a guiding set of principles that reorders the psychotherapy environment to promote safety, empowerment, and healing for both patients and psychotherapists. The study concludes with recommendations that assert that a trauma-informed psychotherapy organization understands its clients and collaborates with relevant parties, thus fostering resilience and self-care. This study is geared toward psychotherapists and Organisational Leaders.
