Summary/Abstract: The following paper is a new reading of the tale The child that dreamt of the Sun on his right shoulder and the Moon on his left transcribed by Marko Cepenkov. This new reading is a gender and psychoanalytic Jungian reading, during which the female character in the story is elevated to the same level as the male character or as a main character. This way, the female character is not seen only as an assistant (J.A. Greimas) to the main (usually male) character, but as an equal to the male main character. Reading the attributes of the tale’s actors that haven’t been read before, such as the symbols or the archetypes, can lead to discovering new meanings of the tale, which could result in a change in its classification.
