Summary/Abstract: Mass migrations are a phenomenon which represents an example of a collective illusion in the last few centuries. The author points out that migrations are our reality; they are the facts of our time. However, facts are silent and others speak for them, yet som etimes facts lie. This paper researches different varieties of migrations. The author writes about the psychology of an emigrant, about his way of thinking, differentiating between tragic, skeptic, logical, comical and melancholic characteristics of migrations. The author emphasizes the influence of the European Union upon the concept of migrations. Namely, the European Union questions the very meaning of the term emigrant. We can no longer talk about migrations, if we are all citizens of the European Union.
