RELIGIOUS EDUCATION IN THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM

Summary/Abstract: The collapse of the socialist social system in the former Yugoslavia, the processesof democratization, atheism withdrawal, and modulating to the tendencies of the moderncivil societies has led to the revival of the question regarding educational system´s approach to religious education in schools. Religious education in Serbia has been introduced not long after the democratically induced changes of the year 2000. What was intended to be achieved through this reform of the educational system is to induce balanceand gain the sense of the suitable amount of presence of the religious content.
