Summary/Abstract: The sonification developed as a method of data representation in the last decade of the twentieth century. It is defined as "nonverbal auditory representation to convey or perceive information". The central paradigm of sonification is the stability of a relationship between the descriptive parameters of the phenomenon or structure to be sonificated and the parameters of the sound sequence produced - "parameter mapping". The ability of the programmer to influence the sound sequence produced naturally raises the question of the title - whether this ability can be asimilated to the componistic activity. We will present here two points of view, coming from the two positions in question.
