Summary/Abstract: Since the Middle Ages, artists have resorted to various methods of transposing images from nature in their works. This work focuses on capturing images using cameras and subsequent transposition redirected to traditional engraving plates. Briefly described, engraving can be defined as the art and technique of making a matrix by different means and on different media, resulting in the printing of one or more prints. The general principles of composition are the same for both fine arts and photographic / cinematographic arts. In composing a frame, the same rules apply as in the case of any other visual composition, the only difference being the way the author relates to the whole. During the presentation, various ways of transposing an image on an engraving matrix through digital technical procedures will be displayed and distinguished.
