Summary/Abstract: The two articles subscribe to the general orientation of this issue towards studies of Italian culture. Dr. Virgil Feier outlines a series of impressive artistic achievements belonging to Banat pianters (Nicolae Popescu), who have found, across the years, higher recognition abroad (mainly for their Italian contributions) than in their native region and country. Gabriela Glăvan reviews Dino Buzzatti's novel on the Tatar desert, treating it as a parable of interior initiation.
