Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the main challenges relevant in the context of the internationalization of higher education (IHE) as an undeniable part of Bologna process, unification of strategies and QA and verbalized by the sotietal paradigm of human development. IHE as part of the university's strategy is based on the core values of higher education and contributes to their observance. In addition, IHE has its own societal narratives traditionally including the development of soft skills, multiculturalism, polylingualism, tolerance, leadership, stress resistance etc. IHE serves both the HEIs and the countries, which got expressly clear in scope of the knowledge society. However, is there a downside to IHE impact and a risk to the academic systems of nation-states? What can be called unethical while implementing IHE? These and other issues have been addressed in this publication.
