Summary/Abstract: This article presents the songwriting of Jarosław Janiszewski, the lyricist of such bands as the Tri-city’s Bielizna, whose lyrics, with their peculiar language, a large dose of irony, mockery, and sarcasm, stand out from the achievements of other rock-scene artists. The author creates grotesque lyrics, full of contrasts, juxtaposing the solemn with the funny, the metaphysical with the mundane. He treats the world from a distance, provoking the listeners to think and depriving them of the comfort that a conventional approach to the issues described would offer. Janiszewski tells various stories, spinning tales about people, their follies, quirks, desires, longings, and dramas. Sometimes he crosses the boundaries of realism, provokes, mocks, and entertains. He has invented a special type of lyrics, which does not have many competitors on the Polish music market.
