Summary/Abstract: How should one read literature? What does a pop singer, open to musical experimentation, have in common with the 20th-century poet, who liked to refer in his work to the achievements of Russian symbolists? How has Odilon Redon’s painting influenced the work of contemporary artists? These questions are answered in this article devoted to a poetic and musical meeting, which took place in the space of art and atmospheric music. In September 2020, Monika Brodka produced the Allegro. Lektury 2.0 |Brodka|Gad prod. 1988. project in collaboration with producer and vocalist of the band Syny, Przemysław Jankowiak. Her musical interpretation of Leśmian’s poem refers to the hidden meanings of this poetry, the philosophical and existential assumptions in which the element of femininity plays an important role. The notion of rhythm, a “hidden tone” – as Leśmian called it – expressing the sense of existence also turns out to be important. The artist has an intuitive grasp of it, feels it under her skin. The interpretation she offered within the project introduces listeners into the “abyss of greenness,” into a new space of the musical (sound) image.
