Summary/Abstract: The social policy investigates a multitude of interdependent social and economic events, related to well-being at the individual, family or society level. In this article are studied certain moments of aligning Romania's social policy with European Union standards. However, there is no social policy specific to the European Union. This area falls primarily within the competence of the member states, and the European legislator sets only the minimum rules that states must comply.
