Summary/Abstract: Between 6 - 16 April 2021, „Th. Pallady“ Hall of the Romanian AcademyLibrary hosted the exhibition entitled „Voroneț Monastery: 533 years since its establishment, 30 years since its reopening” jointly organized by the Romanian Academy Library, and the monastic community of Voroneț Monastery. The vernissage, which took place on 6 April 2021, was attended by His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, acad.Ioan-Aurel Pop – President of the Romanian Academy, acad. Răzvan Theodorescu– Vicepresident of the Romanian Academy, acad. Nicolae Noica – ManagingDirector of the Romanian Academy Library, members of the Romanian Academy, state officials, Stavrophore Irina Pântescu - the first abbess of Voroneț Monastery,Stavrophore dr. Gabriela Platon – the current abbess of the Monastery, and numerouslovers of Orthodox art and spirituality.This anniversary event was moderated by prof. eng. Nicolae Noica, „a lifelong friend of Voroneț Monastery”, who during his tenure as Minister had the courage to initiate the funding of the restoration works on the interior mural painting of Voroneț church.Academician Ioan-Aurel Pop, President of the Romanian Academy, opened the event with a retrospective view on the over five centuries of history and culture of Voroneț Monastery and their significance, and noted that even under difficult circumstances, the Romanian Patriarchate and the Romanian Academy together extend their humble goodwill to Voroneț Monastery.The sublime moments of the reopening of Voroneț Monastery were remembered by those who made it possible, thirty years ago: His Beatitude Daniel,Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, then Metropolitan of Moldavia and Bukovina who in this capacity initiated the process of re-establishment, and Stavrophore Irina Pântescu, the first abbess of Voroneț Monastery. The address delivered by the Head of our Church was entitled „The eternal beauty of Voroneț. The central message of the Last Judgment”.
