Summary/Abstract: The article contains a transcription of two interviews with Elżbieta Kuta, preceded by an introduction. Both accounts were recorded within the research on the so called second generation – the Polish survivors’ of Nazi concentration camps children. The narrator recounts her youth in Tarnów and adult life in Kraków (Lesser Poland region). The main focus of both interviews, however, is the narrator’s relationship with her mother, a former KL Ravensbrück prisoner; one that led to her own trauma. She also discusses her attitude towards memory activism in regards to Nazi camps survivors. Moreover, she puts her life story in the context of other biographies of the 'second generation.' The article discusses the meaning of a long-term relationship between interviewer and witness, with the main focus on trust and shared authority.
