Summary/Abstract: The Stages of Restoring the Icon on Wood the Ascension of the Lord Surrounded by 12 Celebration (praznic) Scenes The icon, made in tempera on a wooden support, is part of the collection of the Golesti Viticulture and Fruit Growing Museum, Argeş. The icon was in an advanced state of degradation, showing numerous degradations both at the level of the support and at the level of the pictorial layer. The conservation-restoration methodology involved carrying out the following operations: prophylactic consolidation, support consolidation, support biocide, final consolidation of the paint layer, filling in gaps, cleaning, color integration and varnishing.
