Summary/Abstract: Macedonia, that is located at the crossroads of Belgrad, Salonica, Istanbul and the Adriatic shores; attracted people’s attention for its strategic location in the Balkan Peninsula, throughout the history. Towards the end of Nineteenth Century the name of Macedonia was pronounced as “Macedonian Problem” because of some political reasons, in the world and European public opinion. The turmoil in the Region were widespread as the “Albanian Problem” raised. The Macedonian problem with which Ottoman Diplomacy dealt nearly 35 years. It was a big power struggle in the era of Abdulhamid, in which European states and ethnic Macedonians involved as well. This power struggle however reached its peak in the Balkan Wars. In this article, the situation of Ottoman- Turkish administration and residents of the Region; the establishment of ‘Vilayat-ı Selase’ administration Rumelian General Inspectorate; reforms and the declaration of the general amnesty the debates on the status quo of the Balkans and foreign interferences in the Ottoman affairs, will be examined. Finally, the sharing of the Macedonian territory after Balkan Wars (1912-1913), will be evaluated.
