Summary/Abstract: The alliance between text and image seems to be an effective way to focus on current issues in interesting and innovative ways. As part of the general public’s awareness of sustainable food, the comic strip Manger vers le futur (2018) focuses on eating behavior in the future from 2010 to 2050. This support meets our objective, because it will not be to study food, but to analyze the discourse on food. This medium presents a verbal discourse enriched by codes specific to the “ninth art” in addition to that of the image. This type of discourse requires a methodology recommended by specialists in stripological analysis like Pierre Fresnault-Deruelle or Pierre Masson. Deruelle, using the semiological method of reading comics, was interested in the variable relationship between text and image. As for Masson, he proposed several stripological analysis tools from which we will mainly retain the paradigmatic and syntagmatic reading method. Thus, we plan to study the food discourse and its means of transmission in Manger vers le futur comic in order to highlight the specifications of the chosen comic in terms of food discourse.
