Summary/Abstract: Focusing on the life events of a poor mischievous pícaro placed in the sociopolitical context of the XVIth century Spain, the anonymous author of Lazarillo de Tormes manages to capture the miserable realities of a fragile, unbalanced empire, denouncing vices, corruption and social evil in all its forms. What this article pretends to do is to highlight the common denominator that unites great part of the characters as in a network: hunger.
