Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses elements of language biographies of residents of the Polish national minority in Ivano-Frankivsk (formerly Stanisławów). The language biographies of people living on the borderline of cultures in the context of historical and social processes have been divided into four groups. The research was based on linguistic interviews conducted among the inhabitants of Ivano- Frankivsk aged over 70, who used at least two languages in their everyday life. The text describes the vitality and functioning of the Polish language, including Polish organisations.
