Summary/Abstract: Citizens’ electronic participation (civic e-participation) is of interest to both researchers and international organizations, and national and local government institutions.It is related to the influence of modern technologies on civil society and the changes incivil-state relations. Even though it is a relatively new area of scientific research, it is thesubject of numerous theoretical reflections and empirical verification. The article aims tosystematize knowledge about electronic civic participation as a subject of scientificresearch. It presents its definition, provides an overview of scientific theories and empirical research conducted in this area
