Summary/Abstract: The most common surnames in Nová Lhota are the surnames Štipčák, Mikéska, Kazík and Sobek. Most of the surnames in the village have been around for centuries. Either as part of an official naming system, or in an unofficial (live) naming system. Rare surnames include those of immigrants. Most surnames are from first names. The most productive suffixes used to form surnames are the suffixes -ík and -ek.
