Summary/Abstract: The inauguration of the Normal School in Arad, on 3/15 November, 1812, was the “greatest, most elevating of all celebrations of the Romanian people in Crişana and Banat: the celebration of its national culture’s resurrection… The day when the bases were laid for the Romanian culture…” (Dr. Teodor Botiş, 1917). The establishment of the Normal School in Arad, as a Teacher-Training Institute, in 1812, and the Clerical School, that is, the Theological Institute of Arad, on 1 November, 1922, saw the birth of two educational and intellectual centers which have contributed and European Illuminist mindset to the movement of national, cultural, didactic and religious liberation.
