Summary/Abstract: The Slavonic-Romanian lexicon from 1673, contained in the manuscript no 3473 from the Romanian Academy Library in Bucharest (f. 1–369), is one of the six Slavonic-Romanian lexicons compiled following the Slavonic-Ruthenian lexicon of Pamvo Berynda (1627, Kyiv) in the seventeenth century. It will be edited and aligned together with the other five lexicons and their common source within the eRomLex project: “The first Romanian bilingual lexicons (17th century). Annotated and aligned digital corpus” (2020–2022).At the level of definition, the lexicon from 1673 contains a rich and varied Romanian lexical inventory, contributing to the knowledge within the main Romanian academic dictionaries. The definitions reveal that the information from the source was modified and adapted. Based on samples, we have recorded new meanings (e.g. ‘contradictory dialogue, verbal dispute’ for gâlceavă) and still unrecorded phrases as boala focului [fire disease, i.e. fever] and tâmpla obrazului [cheekbones]. However, most examples contribute to the establishment of older word attestations than those currently recorded. The technique of presenting equivalences in Romanian through broad, explanatory definitions and synonyms is essential in clarifying the meanings.
