Selected Issues Concerning Manuscripts in Church Libraries in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The paper aims at making researchers aware that many valuable manuscripts are kept not only in archives and museums but also in secular and church libraries. They were collected there practically from the beginning. In the 20th century, various rules and guidelines were published to help in the professional processing of these valuable collections. The author discussed them synthetically. In addition to inventories and catalogues, there are contemporary studies that discuss church manuscript collections in detail. The article contains a short presentation of the most valuable manuscripts in selected church book collections.
