Summary/Abstract: The article presents a short biography of one of the Roman Catholic priests of Przemyśl diocese, rev. Jan Bolesław Szetela. He was a rector of the parish in Nowe Miasto near Dobromil from 1937 to 1990, annexed by the USSR in 1945. Rev. Szetela became famous for his devotion to the Polish people who had stayed in the occupied area with the hope that the political situation was temporary. The article describes his struggle with the Soviet regime and tireless work for maintaining the Christian spirit among Polish people despite many difficulties, like being arrested by NKWD, exile to the lager, work in a coal mine.
