Evaluation of the spatial layout of Szadek and its spatial configurations

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of analysis of spatial configurations of Szadek (area of the chartered town and its immediate neighbourhood) conducted with the use of space syntax instruments. The study identified areas of key importance for the functioning of the town in configurative context. They include two cores of  integration: one having a belt character, situated in the area of the chartered town and stretching towards the Nowe Miasto structures , and the other , of nodal type, existing in the area of the supposed location of pre-charter structures of this town. Areas essential for effective functioning of the pedestrian traffic have also been identified.
