Natural determinants of the location of wind power stations in Szadek minicipality

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the natural determinants of the development of wind energy in the municipality of Szadek. Of primary importance for the decision on the construction of wind power stations are wind conditions in the area. Szadek and the surrounding rural areas are in III zone of wind energy, which means that wind power resources are about 500–1000 kwh/m2/year. In these conditions the construction of wind power plants is economically profitable. 26 wind turbines have been constructed in Szadek municipality. The majority of them are located in the central belt of moraine heights on the axis north-south, which is an agriculturally used area, but the crops cultivated here do not have an adverse effect on air movement.
