Summary/Abstract: The topicality of the research is based on the growing interest in the study of the concepts in English and Kyrgyz language views of the world. The novelty of the paper is that the comparative analysis of the concept of heart in English and Kyrgyz proverbs and sayings has been done for the first time. The aim of this paper is to study the pragmatic aspects concerning the concept of heart in English and Kyrgyz languages through proverbs and sayings. In accordance with the aim of the paper, the following tasks have been set: to select, analyze and interpret proverbs and sayings related to the concept of heart, and to divide them into several thematic groups. To reach the aim of the paper the following research methods were used: analysis, synthesis, observation, interpretation, statistical analysis. Our study revealed that the universal meaning of the concept of heart in both English and Kyrgyz cultures is love. However, Kyrgyz people, due to their nomadic way of life and community-oriented cultural values, interpret heart as love toward family, children and country; whereas, for the English mindset, which places individuality over collectivism, heart means love to oneself and their privacy.
