Summary/Abstract: Pyotr Ilic Tchaikovsky is a prolific composer who has brought important works to Russian and world piano literature. Most of the composer’s piano works are textbooks in terms of musical material. One of the prominent works among these works is the album called Seasons. The Seasons album, which presents a complete picture of the composer’s life and versatile productivity, reflects Russian culture through the seasons of the year. Knowing the cultural elements in the background of the work as well as the technical capacity of the performer in the performance process of the piece will provide important contributions to the performer in terms of musicality. The composer’s large-form piano works have been handled from a different perspective in musicological studies by many researchers. However Seasons has not been adequately addressed in musicological studies both abroad and in Turkey. In line with these views, in this study, the album Seasons was examined thematically and some technical musical structures that came to the fore in miniatures were shared. In the introduction of the study, the development of Russian music life, Tchaikovsky’s place in this development process, the factors that were effective in the composer’s creativity and the emergence process of the work Seasons were summarized and the purpose of the study was shared. In the findings, the analysis of 12 miniatures, each representing a month of the year, in the album Seasons is presented under separate titles. In the conclusion, some pedagogical views that are thought to contribute to the education and performance process of the work are included and important points to be considered are emphasized. The study is considered important in terms of bringing the Seasons to Turkish piano literature.
