Summary/Abstract: The article presents issues related to the important for the current human functioning and its development perspectives, and even existential ones, sphere of environmental protection law, which is waste management. Its purpose is to show the existing legal regulations in the light of the existing practice, the source of which is the situation in the described matter existing in the Municipality of Wrocław. The author begins by mentioning and briefly commenting on the most important elements of the existing legal basis, both in terms of Polish internal law and EU law, and then delve into lower and lower levels of the described issues, starting from the national level and ending on local (commune) level. The article begins with the introduction and ends with the ending, that is, a summary of the adequacy of existing legal solutions to the real social needs and the importance of this, how to implement them in practice, to achieve the desired state of affairs.
