Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present the practical sphere of imagery, on the example of Gaston Bachelard's reflection. He becomes a precursor of a new approach in the field of reflection on the problem of the image, writing that it is the image, not the concept, that is responsible for the relationship that takes place between man and the world. The psyche of a man is burdened with affective pictorial representations – it is through them that he defines his attitude towards the world. By not following the path marked by scientific conceptualization, man can poetically enrich emotional and imaginative processes. Personal, subjective and intimate image creation turns out to be the key to the subject's achievement of existential happiness (le bienfait, le bien-être). Moreover, thanks to the method of rhythm analysis (P. dos Santos) and the therapeutic method of R. Desoille, we learn that the dream world is characterized by its therapeutic effect. It is easier to live in this world, and the respite that comes from it becomes an integral part of the mental health of an individual. Thus, imagination reveals itself as a therapeutic force that allows a person to take root in the world, find their own relationships with the world, as well as a more perfect and deeper understanding of oneself.
