Summary/Abstract: The competence that nowadays can be seen as one of the most necessary ones in the area of professional work and development is definitely the ability to use the English language for specific purposes (ESP). Having this in mind, it is of utmost importance to give even greater attention to this matter of researching this approach of learning the English language. This paper aims to show a brief theoretical review of this approach, to present basic differences between ESP and content and language integrated learning (CLIL) as well as to analyse the students’ attitudes towards the relationship between English and the specific professions. The students who took part in this research are the students of Law Faculty and study programme on Business Informatics at Džemal Bijedić University of Mostar. The results of the conducted survey have shown that students are fully aware of the importance of this foreign language for their future profession. Furthermore, they are interested in incorporating more of these classes into the curricula of their faculties and in connecting their vocational subjects with the English language learning what can be considered as a significant result in future planning of the gradual implementation of CLIL into the curricula of the faculties at the University.
