Summary/Abstract: The Use and the Misuse of the Online Learning Community. The Teacher as Moderator. The intention of this paper is to analyse the impact that an online learning community may have on traditional, face-to-face teaching, stressing both the advantages and disadvantages of using blended learning. The teacher as moderator has an instrumental role in creating a fertile exchange of ideas within an online community and this paper will analyze the dynamics of student groups, together with the role that a teacher should play in such groups.
