Summary/Abstract: Van Gogh is an important painter who expressed himself with his whole being in his paintings. In this expression process, his life experiences, expectations and mental state have been very effective. In particular, internal conflicts have led to the emergence of the original style in the use of color and line. This style brought along an innovative artistic stance for him. With this stance, he was influenced by music, which is a different art discipline, and developed an attitude that associates the majorminor tonality information in music with colors. The fact that he clearly mentioned the concept of minor in the colors he used in the painting "Woman Rocking a Cradle", made in 1889, played an important role in the formation of this work. The purpose of this research, which is shaped according to the case study pattern, which is one of the qualitative research approaches, is to determine the minor colors in Van Gogh's paintings and to present examples of musical themes written by the author for the colors in these paintings. Van Gogh's paintings "Woman Rocking a Cradle, Starry Night, Potato Eaters, Night Coffee in Forum Square, Self-Portrait with Wrapped Ears and Pipe and Wheat Field and Ravens" were examined, and the colors pink, orange, green and especially yellow were used as a major effect. It has been concluded that red, brown and especially dark blue and dark greens are used in a minor effect.
