Summary/Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has created big difficulties everywhere around the globe. The measures imposed by the Governments and particularly the lockdown had and also have still repercussions for the whole society. The violence against women represents one of the problems that became ardent since the beginning of the pandemic. The statistics provided by the institutions, by the associations and by the international organizations indicate a huge increase in what concerns the number of domestic violence cases, which turned into a shadow pandemic. The objective of this research is to analyze the content published on the Facebook pages of a Romanian and of a French association at the beginning of the health crisis. In order to accomplish this purpose, we will use the qualitative content analysis and the discourse analysis. The results of this analysis will indicate the similarities and the differences between the Eastern and the Western Europe regarding the chosen subjects, the interactions with the interested public and the methods used in order to help the victims of domestic violence at the beginning of the emergency situation.
