Summary/Abstract: At the core of Hungary's new foreign policy for nearly a decade has been the conviction that bold and offensive actions are necessary. Through the objectives of its foreign policy, Budapest is attempting to play a more important role than that which results from Hungary's size and position in the world. The country is trying to be a bridge between Eastern and Western Europe by engaging in controversial alliances.
