Summary/Abstract: An increasing number of people around the world are being forced to leave their homes due to the deteriorating state of the environment. Researchers from the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change have no doubt that progressive climate change is causing rising sea and ocean levels, extreme weather events, droughts and desertification, which consequently contributes to increased migration. International law does not define climate migrants and does not provide specific legal protection for them.
