Summary/Abstract: I chose this topic in order to examine, on the one hand, the different ways in which students can improve their knowledge of a foreign language, but also of their mother tongue, through the use of translation; on the other hand, I intend to illustrate a series of didactic strategies for teaching translation as an independent activity, as a skill in itself, which needs to be developed and can be used by students both in interlingual and intercultural communication processes and in their future jobs as translators or interpreters.
