Summary/Abstract: Purpose – The purpose of the study is investigating the mediator role of work engagement between psychological empowerment and innovative work behavior. Design/methodology/approach – In regard to purpose of the research, data were collected by the participation of the school teachers in Turkey who have crucial roles in the manner of raising new generations. 412 school teachers answered the survey which is consisting related research variables’ scales and numerous demographic variables. The survey was designed to collect data via online survey form. Data were analyzed with PROCESS MACRO. Findings – Findings acquired by the research indicated that work engagement has a mediating role between psychological empowerment and innovative work behavior. Discussion – The findings of the study have importance in the manner of exploring the antecedents of the innovative work behavior which is acknowledged by the increasing number of people. In this context, various suggestions were noted for future studies and practitioners.
