Summary/Abstract: The development of the Zionist movement in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina has not been thoroughly researched. The Zionist idea was ingrained in this area since the beginning of the 20th century. The necessity to institutionalize this movement led to the creation of the Zionist society Bene Cion. At the time, for any society to be recognized as a legal entity, the occupying Austro-Hungarian authorities had to acknowledge its rules. In this paper we present and provide a critical analysis of the approved Rules of Sarajevo’s Bene Cion, the oldest Zionist society in the South Slavic territory.
