To determination of root morpheme in the Czech language teaching

Summary/Abstract: The text deals with the issue of root morpheme in the Czech language teaching from the perspective of the topics of word structure and morphematic analysis. The author starts from description of inclusion of the topic in the elementary school curriculum and focuses on specific problems that occur in determining the root morpheme within the elementary education as well as the university training of teachers. The nodal points are represented by explanation of the term, distinction of the word-forming basis and the root, the semantic side of the root, variability of root morphemes within inflexion and word formation, phonological structure of roots and phonetic alternation.
