Interdisciplinary approach to female crime in the contemporary period, with special reference to the crimes of infanticide and terrorism

Summary/Abstract: Through this scientific paper, I wanted to highlight the significant importance of knowing the phenomenon of female crime. The choice of this research topic was based on the importance that the phenomenon has acquired in the last century, because at the beginning of the emergence of criminology as a science of crime investigation, we could not talk about the analysis of crimes committed by women. they were not as serious as those committed by their male counterparts. In the first part of the paper, we analyzed some evolutionary and defining aspects of female crime, but also what are the questions that criminology should try to answer in order for the vision of the phenomenon to be completed. In the second part, the attention of the paper was focused on the brief description of the peculiarities of some crimes whose active subject is represented by a woman. Relevant data are thus described on the offenses of killing or injuring the newborn by the mother and the involvement of women in the activity of terrorism.
