Contrastive Studies Understood Differently: Text Linguistics within German Studies from the Perspective of Research in Polish Studies

Summary/Abstract: Contrastive studies (within German studies) were earlier understood as the comparison of the systems of two or more languages and, after a pragmatic turn, gradually the areas of text and discourse were introduced. The present article presents yet another type of contrasytive studies, i.e. interlinguistic contrastive studies—from the perspective of Polish text linguistics the crucial problems within the equivalent dicipline in German studies are introduced and discussed.
