Summary/Abstract: The article presents only the basic facts from the life of Aleksandra Pietrov née Pogodin (1815-1883) - a Russian woman who spent most of her life in Warsaw, where she also was buried at the local Orthodox cemetery. She was a remarkable woman, a true friend of the oppressed Polish nation during the tsarist captivity. Unfortunately, she has been omitted in the historical and press studies conducted so far and now she has been completely forgotten. The present sketch is the first attempt to shed more light on the life and diverse activities of Aleksandra Pietrov – a fighter for the Polish cause, philanthropist, educational activist and publicist, publisher and editor. The study was conducted with the use of the biographical method which is included in the qualitative research methods, and the quality method of the press content for the press studies, useful for the presentation of formal and publishing features of the papers: Czytelnia Niedzielna, Strażnica, and Wiadomości z Pola Bitwy.
