Summary/Abstract: The number of feminist films is increasing in parallel with the feminist movements. The critical deconstructive analysis of the feminist movement, especially on the settled structure of the language and culture in 70’s, provides new possibilities and strategies of the creative female as a subject in different areas throughout 80’s and 90’s. This tendency also leads the female directors up to create their own narrative forms that diversify the cinematic narration with new perspectives. The critiques of those films and directors become more of an issue today. Within this scope, this essay discusses the analysis of the film Portrait De La Jeune Fille En Feu (Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Céline Sciamma, 2019). The analysis of the film depends on the scope of the dialogue between Mikhail Bakhtin’s writings and the various points of view in the feminist theory. Mikhail Bakhtin’s concepts such as heteroglossia and dialogism, polyphony, carnivalism and chronotope are guiding spirits for the analysis of the film. In this context, the position and representation of the creative female as a subject in art will be the first step of the analysis, while the critical perspective of the director through gender is being emphasised. Then the narrative form of the director reveals itself as a new strategic form of the creative female as a subject.
