Summary/Abstract: In the modern world, many aspects of social life are being transferred to the Internet. This also applies to the daily functioning of students, seen as typical representatives of the digital society. In the conducted research, attempts were made to determine what problems students struggle with in the real world, and what solutions they look for in the virtual world. The purpose of this work was to explore, describe and explain the studied phenomenon, i.e. problems discussed by Polish and Russian students on online forums. In the process of looking for a specified state of reality, a research problem was formulated. It took the form of the question: What problems of the real world are discussed by Polish and Russian students on online forums? A method to find the answer to this question was to analyse the content of student discussion forums. Texts analysis allowed to look into young people’s feelings, expressed by the language of the network. Such a review of statements made it possible to draw conclusions about the characteristics of contemporary Polish and Russian students and everyday problems they try to solve by means of contact with the network. The research has shown similarities and differences in the approach of Poles and Russians to the problems they discuss.
