Summary/Abstract: The Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands, located in the East China Sea, have significant economic potential in terms of fishing, oil and natural gas resources. This economic potential of the islands causes sovereignty claims between China, Japan and Taiwan. The United States, on the other hand, is involved in the conflict as an ally of Japan. This multi-actor state of the problem creates a security gap in the region, preventing the discovery and effective use of the potential of the region. In this context, the power struggle over Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands will be revealed in the study, in which Power Transition Theory is used as a theoretical framework.
