Strategic Importance and Comparative Analysis of Trash Intelligence within the Framework of Counter Intelligence Principles

Summary/Abstract: Trash intelligence is an information gathering method that provides medical, economic, military, cyber or scientific data and information about the target with the “dumpster diving” technique, which is one of the most remarkable methods of social engineering. The aim of this study is to establish the basic conceptual framework of trash intelligence that has not been adequately researched in the literature, but has the opportunity to be widely used in practice. Besides, it is also aimed to emphasize its strategic importance in terms of the principles of counter-intelligence and to create the general visionary framework for implementation.
