Summary/Abstract: Our study will examine Abū Naʿīm Ahmad el-Khādimī’s (d. 1160/1744) evaluation of his work on positioning the approaches about human actions through his epistle called Risālâh fī afʿāl al-ʿibād. In addition, the original and contributing aspects of the treatise will be pointed out. In addition to these, it is aimed to bring the risālah into the literature by making the critical edition and translation. Throughout the history of Islam, many approaches have emerged about human actions and partial will (al-irādah al-juzʾiyyah); parallel to this, a writing literature has developed that tries to identify the divergence and common points of these approaches and to locate them in a certain place. This concise epistle, which is the subject of our study, can also be seen as a product of this literature. The author’s positioning and classifying Jalāl al-Dīn al-Dawwānī (d. 908/1502), al-Sayyid al-Sharīf al-Jurjānī (d. 816/1413) and Ṣadr aş-Sharīʿa al-Thānī (d. 747/1346) in terms of actions different from the common Māturīdī and Ashʿarī traditions one of its attractive aspects.
